Avinash first graduated as a dentist in India in 2002. After graduation she worked there in a public clinic for 2 years in order to gain some very valued experience. After this period she travelled to Australia and arrived in Melbourne. Having passed the rigorous dental entrance examination at the Royal Dental Hospital through Melbourne University she has worked as a dentist in Melbourne since 2008.
Avinash enjoys working with children and can also put nervous patients at ease, which is an aspect of the job she finds very rewarding.
Avinash enjoys expanding and deepening her understanding of various aspects of dentistry, orthodontics being a particular favourite. With this in mind she has completed a programme ‘Fellow at the International College’ for Continuing Dental Education for ‘Orthodontics in general Practice’ . This allows her to assess and treat people teeth orthodontically. She enjoys this as it allows her to provide a full range of care to children, and get a great result at the end of treatment the children and parents are happy with.
The next course she is about to embark upon is a residency in sleep related breathing disorders and craniofacial pain. This will allow Avi to more thoroughly assess craniofacial pain and also the ability to help diagnose sleep related disorders and provide treatment for them.
Outside of work Avi is kept busy by her young family.
